Transportation for students living on campus is available in specific situations. Drivers are employed by the University and drive a University vehicle.
Residence hall closings
When Harmony Hall is closed, the Office of Residence Life offers transportation to and from the Pittsburgh International Airport and Pittsburgh to catch the Megabus, Greyhound or Amtrak. Sign-up information and schedules will be posted in Harmony Hall a few weeks prior to break and the closing of the hall.
To accommodate as many students as possible, the driver maintains a very strict schedule. Sometimes students may need to arrive at the early or wait for a pick-up, depending on the driver's schedule.
Students interested in obtaining transportation will need to register by contacting Jill Bender, staff assistant, Office of Residence Life, 101 Student Development Center (SUB 101), 724-773-3959. Please have all your travel information ready when you see Jill.
If the campus transportation schedule doesn't meet your needs, there are two alternative services in the area that will take you to the Pittsburgh International Airport. Please note that the campus is approximately 18 miles from the airport.

Shopping/Entertainment
To meet the needs of our residence hall students who do not have cars, there is a Campus Shuttle available on weekends. The shuttle typically runs on Saturdays and takes students to various shopping and/or entertainment areas. There is no fee to students for this service, but students do need to sign in up advance. Each week the trip is posted on the bulletin board in the front of Harmony Hall. More details will be given throughout the semester.
For International Students Only
International students often need transportation to obtain a social security card, obtain a PA State Driver's License, Medical Visits or other individual needs. Transportation to meet these needs can be arranged in advance by contacting Jill Bender, Staff Assistant, Residence Life SUB 101 724-773-3939 or jmt226@psu.edu
