The campus shuttle provides transportation for students at specific times of the year.
On Move-In Day, international and out-of-state students frequently need transportation to Penn State Beaver. We're happy to provide a free shuttle service from the Pittsburgh International Airport and other Pittsburgh transportation stations to the campus.
To make arrangements for transportation on Move-In Day, please contact Jill Bender, staff assistant, Office of Residence Life, 724-773-3959. To guarantee available transportation, please contact Ms. Bender by Tuesday, August 12, 2014.
Residence Hall Closings
When Harmony Hall is preparing to close for spring break or the end of the semester, the Office of Residence Life offers transportation to and from the Pittsburgh International Airport and downtown Pittsburgh so that students have easy access to the Megabus, Greyhound bus, or Amtrak. Transportation sign-up information and schedules will be posted in Harmony Hall several weeks prior to break and/or the closing of the hall.
In order to accommodate as many students as possible, our campus shuttle driver must maintain a very strict schedule. Students should be aware that sometimes they may be delivered to their destination earlier than necessary and/or may need to wait to be picked up, depending on the driver's schedule.
Students interested in obtaining transportation must register by contacting Jill Bender, staff assistant, Office of Residence Life, 101 Student Development Center (SUB 101), 724-773-3959. Please have all your travel information ready when you contact Ms. Bender.
If the campus transportation schedule doesn't meet your needs, two alternative services offer transportation to the Pittsburgh International Airport. Please note that the campus is approximately 18 miles from the airport. You may contact these services as follows:
1-800-258$32.35 one way or $62.70 round trip
J. B. Taxi Service 724-266-6666
724-266-6666 or 724-658-1444 $3.05 for initial pick up, plus $2.45 per mile
*Please note that transportation services are not available for personal use, i.e. if a student is traveling at a time other than when the campus closes or opens, he/she is responsible for finding his/her own transportation to/from his/her destinations.

Students are admitted to the Beaver County YMCA for free every Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A shuttle is available at 6:30 p.m. to transport students from Harmony Hall to the YMCA and will also return students from the YMCA to campus at 9:00 .m. The shuttle typically runs on Saturdays and takes students to various shopping and/or entertainment areas in and around the area, including Pittsburgh. There is no fee for the shuttle service, but some events do require a fee, e.g. Pittsburgh Zoo, snow tubing, Splash Lagoon, etc. Each trip is advertised on bulletin boards and Stall Stories in Harmony Hall. Students must sign up for all weekend trips in room 101, Student Union Building. Participation is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Trips to Penn State University Park
On certain weekends throughout the semester, Beaver campus Student Government Association (SGA) representatives travel to Penn State University Park (U.P.) for meetings. There are typically extra seats available in the van for these trips. For a fee of $10, students can register to go to U.P. These trips are one night only, and students are responsible for finding their own accommodations at U.P. Trips to U.P. are advertised throughout campus. Students must register to go by signing up in room 101, Student Union Building.
