Important Dates to Remember
International Student Move-In Day - Tuesday, August 20, 2013
International students are permitted to move into the residence hall on Tuesday, August 20, 2013. Suggested arrival time is between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. However, due to available flights, it's understood that some students may need to arrive later.
If you need to make accommodation arrangements regarding your arrival, please contact Jill Bender, staff assistant, Office of Student Affairs/Residence Life, 724-773-3959. Professional staff members and student leaders will be on campus to assist with your arrival.
If you're in need of transportation from the Pittsburgh International Airport to Penn State Beaver, a shuttle service can be arranged. Please contact Jill Bender, 724-773-3959, no later than Tuesday, August 6, 2013, in order to make these arrangements.
New Student Orientation (Part 1) - Wednesday, August 21, 2013
International students are required to attend New Student Orientation (NSO) on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. During this time you'll meet with an academic advisor, schedule classes, tour the campus, and become acquainted with other first-year students. The Peer Leaders will be there to help facilitate fames and activities to help you get to know each other and to become familiar with the campus.
First-Year Student Move-In Day - Thursday, August 22, 2013
On Thursday, August 22, 2013, all non-international first-year students will move into the residence hall at which time you'll meet your roommate! There are no scheduled activities during the day so that you can settle in and get to know other students. If you need to go shopping for additional needs, transportation via shuttle can be arranged. That evening at 9 p.m., there will be a required All Hall Meeting to discuss residence hall and campus policies and procedures. This meeting will be facilitated by Residence Life Coordinators and Resident Assistants.
New Student Orientation (Part 2) - Friday, August 23, 2013
New Student Orientation (NSO) is required for all first-year students. Both residence hall and commuter students will meet for this orientation. The day will be filled with important information along with fun activities - and FOOD, of course! The Peer Leaders will be present to answer any questions you have throughout the day.
