International Student Move-In Day is Tuesday, August 19, 2014.
Penn State Beaver has one residence hall, Harmony Hall, which houses more than 200 students and is located at 110 University Drive, Monaca, PA 15061-2764.
International students are permitted to move into Harmony Hall on Tuesday, August 19, 2014. The suggested arrival time is between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Our professional staff members and student leaders will be available to assist you when you arrive on campus.
Students arriving on campus after 5:00 p.m. will need to make advanced arrangements to ensure access to their room. If you plan to arrive after 5:00 p.m., please contact Jill Bender, staff assistant, Office of Residence Life, 724-773-3959.
If you need transportation from the Pittsburgh International Airport to the campus, we can arrange a shuttle service for you. However, to make shuttle service arrangements, you must contact Jill Bender, staff assistant, Office of Residence Life, 724-773-3959, by Tuesday, August 12, 2014.
New Student Orientation (Part 1) is Wednesday, August 20, 2014.
International students are required to attend New Student Orientation (NSO), 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 21, 2014.
During this time you'll meet with an academic adviser, schedule your classes, tour the campus, and become acquainted with other first-year students. Our Peer Leaders will be here to help facilitate games and activities that will help you get to know one another and become familiar with the campus.
Following NSO, all new international students will be able to ask any questions when they have lunch with Amy Gartley, associate director of student affairs, and Jill Bender, staff assistant, Office of Residence Life. Ms. Gartley and Ms. Bender will be happy to help you in any way. That evening a shuttle service to local shopping areas will be provided for you in case you need to purchase anything for yourself and/or your residence hall room.
First-Year Student Move-In Day is Thursday, August 21, 2014.
On Thursday, August 21, 2014, all non-international first-year students will move into Harmony Hall to get settled and meet his/her roommate.
A brief International Student Orientation will be held to review paperwork and other necessary steps required for international students only. The meeting time and place will be announced later.
At 9:00 p.m. that evening, all Harmony Hall residents are required to attend an All-Hall Meeting to discuss campus and residence hall policies and procedures. This meeting, which is mandated for every student living in Harmony Hall, will be facilitated by residence life coordinators and students who are resident assistants (RAs).
New Student Orientation (Part 2) is Friday, August 22, 2014.
New Student Orientation (NSO) is required for all first-year students. Both residence hall and commuter students must attend NSO.
The day will be filled with important information as well as fun activities and plenty of delicious food! Campus Peer Leaders will be available throughout the day to answer any questions you may have and/or to provide you with information about any aspect of the campus.
