On July 28, 1870, nine years after the first students graduated from Penn State, the Penn State Alumni Association (PSAA) was formed with twelve Penn Staters in a chemistry room on the first floor of Old Main.
The PSAA, a powerful network of more than 165,000 members, is the largest dues-paying alumni association in the United States. Our mission is to connect alumni to the University and each other, to provide valuable services to members, and to support the University’s mission of teaching, research, and service.
Even after their days on campus have passed, Penn State alumni maintain strong ties to the University and each other through the Association's many affiliation groups. The PSAA sponsors 280 chartered groups that provide alumni with opportunities for professional and personal development, networking and career information, volunteer projects, community outreach, and building lifelong friendships.
Penn State Beaver connects with its alumni through a variety of outreach activities, advisory boards, two alumni boards, and campus/community organizations.
We invite alumni to attend a wide range of functions that connect our Beaver alumni with current and future students. Our alumni are actively involved in promoting Beaver campus and in giving back to students and alumni through mentoring, career guidance, networking, and other activities.
