The Penn State College of Nursing and Outreach offers a variety of courses specifically developed for school nurses. New courses are developed annually and include current topics, such as autism and bullying. Participants may earn Act 48 credits.

NURS 497A Life-threatening Allergies: Managing Ongoing Issues and Challenges in the School Community
(2 credits) Explores the development and implementation of a comprehensive plan for creating and maintaining a healthy and safe educational environment.

PREREQUISITES: PSYCH 100 or SOC 001 or HDFS 129
Instructor: Stacy Chiles, Master’s Degree in Nursing Education, RN, CSN
Tuition: $524 per credit.
