Meet the New Learning Resource Network

IT Training Services has implemented the new Learning Resource Network (LRN), which will change the way all staff and faculty at Penn State register, find, and track their professional development. This change will make training and support resources easier to access and further the ITS Training Services mission to provide you with the technology training you need, when you need it.

You can learn more about this multi-year initiative between the Office of Human Resources (OHR) and Information Technology Service (ITS) to develop a one-stop shop for all Penn State training and professional development in the Penn State News article released earlier this month. In the following weeks, further announcements detailing the change and where you can get help and assistance will be released to make this transition as seamless as possible.

Course Spotlight: VoiceThread: An Introduction

In this session, participants will be introduced to the basic features of VoiceThread, a unique web-based interactive discussion tool, before exploring various uses and successful case studies of implementation into both the classroom and work environment. Using VoiceThread, instructors, students, or project teams can share and comment on video, audio, and documents with any mix of text, microphone, webcam, telephone, or uploaded audio files. With this overview, participants will learn how to utilize VoiceThread to facilitate more authentic, asynchronous conversations that can increase collaboration and group interaction.
