Lady Lions Finish Seventh In USCAA, Begin PSUAC Playoffs
On Friday, Feb. 29 the Penn State Beaver Lady Lions basketball team finished seventh in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Tournament in Broken Bow, Oklahoma when they were defeated, 73-66, by Robert Morris College of Springfield, Illinois. The previous day they lost their first-round game, 77-45, to Spalding University of Louisville, Kentucky.
In the loss, Beaver was led in scoring by freshman Heather Sandusky (New Brighton High School / New Brighton, PA) who netted 17 points. Green added 15 points and freshman Tasia McCargo (Beaver Falls High School / Beaver Falls, PA) chipped in 14.
With the loss, Beaver finished seventh of twelve teams in the tournament and their overall record fell to 18-8. The Lady Lions return to action on Tuesday, March 4 when they host Penn State Abington in a first-round PSUAC playoff game at 5 p.m.
