Free June Concerts Kick off Brodhead Cultural Center Summer Series
Mark and Donna Groom, members of Pittsburgh's Jimmy Beaumont and the Skyliners, will kick off the Penn State Beaver Brodhead Cultural Center's 32nd summer season with a free show at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 19, in the J. P. Giusti Amphitheater. A rain date is scheduled for the following evening. Burke's Bavarian Brass will present a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at the Cultural Center. There is no rain date.
The Beaver Valley Area Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association will sell hot and cold refreshments at the Cultural Center concession stand before and during the Cultural Center shows. Sale proceeds benefit the chapter's scholarships for Beaver campus students.
The Mill Creek Valley Historical Association will staff and host free tours of the Baker-Dungan Museum located on the hill overlooking the Cultural Center's amphitheater. This year's museum theme is Pittsburgh's founding fathers. The museum, which is open for one hour before all shows held in the amphitheater, contains a variety of local historical artifacts, tools, furniture, clothing and other displays.
