Monaca Cornet Band Will Present Free Show on July 29
The Monaca Cornet Band will present a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, at the Penn State Beaver Brodhead Cultural Center's J.P. Giusti Amphitheater. In the event of rain, the concert will be held the following evening.The summer series is co-sponsored in part by The Times, ARA Corp., The Idea Works and the Beaver Valley Musicians Union Trust Fund.
The Beaver Valley Area Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association will sell cups of Penn State Berkey Creamery ice cream from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the top of the amphitheater seating area. The group also will sell hot and cold refreshments at the Cultural Center concession stand before and during the show. All sale proceeds benefit the chapter's scholarships for Beaver campus students.
The Mill Creek Valley Historical Association will staff and host free tours of the Baker-Dungan Museum located on the hill overlooking the Cultural Center's amphitheater. This year's museum theme is Pittsburgh's Founding Fathers. The museum, which is open for one hour before all shows held in the amphitheater, contains a variety of local historical artifacts, tools, furniture, clothing and other displays.
