Lions Lose Doubleheader to Penn College

On Sunday, Sept. 28, host Penn College defeated the Beaver baseball team in a doubleheader, 4-1 and 18-8.

In game one, Beaver junior Joe Scherer (Sewickley) pitched five plus innings and struck out four. He led the team offensively with two hits and one RBI. Sophomore Huston Lorenzo (Miami) ended the game with a triple while junior Justin Parasida (Ambridge) and freshman Jon Minnocci (Ellwood City) each hit a double.

In the second game, Scherer led the Lions in offense with three hits while Lorenzo had two. Junior Ryan Raraigh (Riverside) ended the game with two hits and three RBIs. Minnocci had one hit with two RBIs and Parasida had three hits, including two doubles.

Beaver is 7-5 in the conference and 7-5 overall. The Nittany Lions travel Sunday, Oct. 5, to Penn State New Kensington for its next conference game. Game time will be announced.
