Admissions Office offers free programs for prospective students
The Penn State Beaver Admissions Office is offering two free programs for prospective students and their families.
The campus will offer a Fall Open House at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, in the Student Union Building Lodge as part of Penn State Day and Homecoming. The "Be a PSU Student for a Day" program will be presented from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, in the Lodge. Advance reservations are needed.
At the Open House, prospective students and their families are invited to explore opportunities at Penn State and talk with campus students and faculty to find out about daily life on campus. The program will include a welcome from Chancellor Gary Keefer, a presentation on "Why Penn State is Right for You," information on how to apply, and a campus tour. Participants will sit in on college classes in a variety of areas of interest ranging from business and chemistry to information technology and engineering.
Campus students will conduct campus tours and introduce students and families to campus facilities, including the residence and dining halls, gymnasium, library, and student services and academic buildings. The campus tour will conclude with Penn State Berkey Creamery ice cream at the Homecoming carnival.
For the "Be a PSU Student for a Day" program, participants will attend classes and enjoy a free lunch with campus students. Participants can choose to attend three classes in a variety of areas, including accounting, business, calculus, chemistry, economics, engineering, psychology, sociology and more. In addition, students can meet individually with an admissions counselor and submit an application for admission to Penn State.
