Donors still needed for Gift Drive for Children
Donors are still needed for the Beaver Valley Area Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association's annual Gift Drive for Children, which is held in conjunction with
Children and Youth Services (CYS) of Beaver County and benefits children who are CYS clients.
Participants will be provided with the first name, age and sex of the child(ren) as well as a variety of gift suggestions and, if needed, clothing sizes. The group suggests that each gift be in the $25-$30 range since the gift might be the only one a child receives this holiday season. All gift donors and recipients remain anonymous.
If participants prefer, a monetary donation can be made instead to the Alumni Chapter, and chapter members will purchase gifts for the children on behalf of the donor(s).
Gifts should be wrapped and delivered to members of the Alumni Chapter from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the Festival of Trees in Brady's Run Lodge. Attach a separate gift tag to each gift. On the tag, write the child's name, caseworker number and a brief description of the enclosed gift and tape it to the gift.
If unable to deliver gift(s) to the Festival of Trees, donors are asked to ensure that they deliver their gift(s) to Alumni Chapter members between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, in the Lodge of the Student Union Building at Penn State Beaver, Monaca. Directions to campus are available by visiting http://www.beaver.psu.edu and clicking on "Visitors and Community" on the left.
