Engineering students present design projects
Four design project presentations were made recently by Penn State Beaver students in the Engineering Design class taught by James A. Hendrickson, instructor in engineering. Each project was sponsored by a group or organization.
Brian Shank, a sophomore engineering major from Cranberry Township, was the student team leader for the Waterwheel Water Bypass Safety System, and sophomore engineering major Yuduo Zhao of Nairobi, Kenya, was the leader for the Waterwheel Brake and Power Generation System. Both projects were sponsored by Friends of Beaver Creek State Park/Gaston’s Mill in Ohio. The Reverse Engineering of Bessemer Oil Field Pumping Engine project was led by freshman Robert Springer, an engineering major from Aliquippa, and sponsored by Moraine State Park/Muddycreek Historical Oil Field Site. Penn State Beaver sponsored the Wind Power Generation Project led by sophomore science major Zachary Kozak of Hookstown.
