Free concert will feature music of Haiti, Brazil, Africa, and more

Zili Misik, an all-female band, will present a free concert on Friday, Feb. 13, noon to 1 p.m., in the Penn State Beaver auditorium. The public is invited to attend.

This unique musical group of women will perform a variety of musical styles, including Haitian, Jamaican reggae, Afro-Brazilian samba, Portuguese, Afro-Cuban, African American spirituals, blues, jazz and neo soul.

Zili Misik was named the Boston Music Awards 2008 Outstanding International Music Act of the Year and also won the 2008 Boston Phoenix/FNX Best Music Poll. The group was also featured on WGBH/PBS television’s Design Squad.
