Women Undefeated in PSUAC, Men Remain Strong

On Monday, Feb. 2 the Penn State Beaver women’s and men’s basketball teams hosted and defeated PSUAC rival Penn State DuBois, 85-53 and 71-66, respectively. The Lady Lions remain undefeated in the PSUAC at 13-0 and the Lions are 12-2.

In the women’s game, sophomore Heather Sandusky (New Brighton High School, New Brighton) led with 21 points and 12 rebounds while sophomore Jasmine Green (Orange High School, Allentown) had 17 points and 7 assists. Sophomore Tasia McCargo (Beaver Falls High School, Beaver Falls) added 14 points and 5 steals.
For the Lions, freshman Tony Houghton (Perry Traditional Academy High School, Pittsburgh) led with 22 points, junior Tim Kubis (Hopewell High School, Hopewell Township) followed with 18, and junior Zach Fetchin, also from Hopewell, had 12 points.
Beaver’s women and men will host Penn State Fayette on Saturday, Feb. 7. Tip-off for the Lady Lions, now 17-3 overall, is 1 p.m. and for the men, 15-5 overall, the game begins at 3 p.m.
