300 attend John Bul Dau presentation
Three hundred students, faculty, staff, and community members attended a FEb. 2 presentation by John Bul Dau, one of the Lost Boys of Sudan featured in the award-winning documentary "God Grew Tired of Us." The program was presented by the Office of Student Affairs.
Dau spoke of his escape as a 13-year-old from his Sudanese village when it came under attack, as well as his trials while traveling to reach safety in Africa. Dau eventually reached the United States after years of living in various parts of Africa. After completing his education, he established the John Dau Sudan Healthcare Foundation in Southern Sudan and continues to work to support a clinic he helped build there.
Dau's presentation was followed by a luncheon with student leaders and members of the campus’ Diversity and Multicultural Committee.
