Admissions will offer free programs for prospective students

2/27/2009 —

The Penn State Beaver Admissions Office will offer two free programs for prospective students in March.

Be a PSU Student for a Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 4, in the Student Union Building Lodge and a financial aid workshop will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 7 in the Student Union Building.

The first workshop allows high schools students to spend a day as a college student by attending classes at Penn State Beaver and having lunch with current campus students. Students can choose to attend three classes in a variety of disciplines, including accounting, business, calculus, chemistry, economics, engineering, psychology, sociology, and more. If desired, students can meet individually with an admissions counselor and submit an application. Space is limited and advance registration is required.

At the financial aid workshop, learn how to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Participants can discover the kinds of financial aid available to them, including grants, loans and scholarships. Staff members will help you navigate potential pitfalls in financing a college education. Advance registration is requested.

To register for either event, contact the Admissions Office at 1 (877) JOIN-PSU, br-admissions@psu.edu, or AOL IM: BrAdmissions.
