Penn State librarians pen entries for encyclopedia
Penn State Beaver Librarian Courtney Young and Penn State Abington Librarian Alexia Hudson are contributors to the recently released "Oxford Encyclopedia of African American History 1896 to the Present: From the Age of Segregation to the Twenty-First Century." Young wrote five entries, on African American astronauts, science fiction author Octavia Butler, actress Pam Grier, astronaut and professor Mae Jemison and librarian Dorothy Porter. Hudson wrote two articles -- one about Stanley O'Neal, the first African American chief executive officer of Merrill Lynch, and another on Ann Fudge, the first African American chief executive office of a major advertising firm (Young & Rubicam Brands and its advertising division Y&R Advertising).
