Center Theatre Players will present 'Cabaret' on July 29, 30 and 31
The Center Theatre Players will present the Oscar and Tony Award-winning musical "Cabaret" at 7:30 p.m. on July 29, 30 and 31, in the auditorium of the Penn State Beaver Student Union Building. The play, directed by Sandy Reigel, is presented as part of the Brodhead Cultural Center’s 34th season of summer programming.
"Cabaret" follows the lives of singer Sally Bowles and her friends in Berlin’s seedy Kit Kat Klub as the Nazi regime rises to power in 1920s Germany. Classic songs from the show include "Cabaret," "Wilkommen," "The Money Song," "Maybe This Time" and "Tomorrow Belongs to Me." The musical is based on the play titled "I Am a Camera," by John Van Druten and inspired by stories written by Christopher Isherwood. John Kander and Fred Ebb wrote the award-winning musical score.
Tickets are $14 and all seating is general. Tickets can be purchased in advance, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, in the Brodhead Cultural Center Office, suite 201, Ross Administration Building, at Penn State Beaver. Tickets also will be sold at the door each night of the show beginning at 6 p.m. Auditorium doors open for seating at 6:45 p.m.
