Beaver students travel to Catholic shrine in Washington, D.C.
Penn State Beaver students joined other students from regional colleges and universities when they traveled recently to Washington, D.C. to attend Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. It is the largest Roman Catholic Church in the United States and North America and one of the 10 largest churches in the world. In addition to attending Mass, students were able to tour the city and visit other well-known sites.
The trip was coordinated by Gary M. Slifkey, director of Catholic campus ministry at Beaver and Robert Morris University. Students from Robert Morris, Slippery Rock University, La Roche College, the University of Pittsburgh, and Washington & Jefferson traveled with the students from Beaver campus.
