Blackhawk High School wins Science Challenge at Penn State Beaver

Blackhawk High School won the Eighteenth Annual Penn State Beaver/Midwestern Pennsylvania Association of Science Teachers (MidPAST) Science Challenge hosted by the campus Friday, April 12. Second place team was South Side High School, and third place team was Quaker Valley High School. 

Twenty-eight students from seven area high schools participated.
First-place team winners Samuel Dessler and Eric Collins each received a $100 Beaver Valley Mall gift card. Their faculty advisor was Kim Baker. Blackhawk High School also received a $1,000 Penn State Beaver Scholarship to be awarded to a Blackhawk student planning to attend Penn State Beaver.

Second place team winners Dylan Anderer and Tim Wiesen each received a $50 mall gift card. Faculty advisor was Jen Satler. Third place team winners Justin Green and Andrew Warburton each received a $25 mall gift card. Faculty advisor was Matt Littell.
Other participating schools were Ambridge, New Brighton, Riverside, and Western Beaver High Schools.
