McGarry, Stoughton and Wiliams earn honors

University Park, PA - The Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) announced post-season honors for the men’s 2010-11 basketball season.
Two Penn State Beaver Nittany Lions were recognized along with Beaver head coach Marcess Williams.
Senior David McGarry (Poland Seminary/Poland, OH) earned PSUAC First Team All-Conference honors, and senior Billy Stoughton (Slippery Rock High School/Slippery Rock, PA) earned PSUAC Honorable Mention All-Conference honors, marking the first time they've been recognized in their college careers.
In his senior year, McGarry carried the Nittany Lions offensively as he averaged 14.8 ppg, shooting a remarkable 61.3% from the field. McGarry also grabbed 7.7 rpg and dished out 2.0 apg.
Team captain Billy Stoughton earned Honorable Mention All-PSUAC recognition as he tallied 9.4 ppg and grabbed 2.5 rpg. Stoughton shot 75% from the free throw line, 40.4% from the field, and 36.3% from 3-point range.
Williams earned his third consecutive PSUAC Coach of the Year Award. Williams was an impressive 20-11 as he led the team to their third straight PSUAC title, third straight PSUAC regular season title, and third straight PSUAC Championship. In addition, Williams led Beaver to a third Place finish at the USCAA National Tournament in Fayette. Williams owns a 93-78 career record after completing his sixth season at Beaver's helm. This is the team’s third straight 20-win season.
