Volunteer Opportunities with Big Brothers/ Big Sisters of Beaver County
BIG BROTHER or BIG SISTER mentors:
Scheduling:
Meet Monday or Wednesday from 5-7pm at the Penn State campus every week during the semester.
Transportation:
None required; agency personnel transport the assigned child to the campus
Requirements:
Must be able and willing to commit to a second semester of mentoring the same child. (i.e. returning Fall 01; anyone in their last semester at PSUB is not eligible to apply)
Must complete application, submit 3 references, undergo interview, and be a good role model.
Office Volunteer
Scheduling:
Flexible, but be between 8:30-4pm Monday through Friday
Transportation:
Must have own car to get to and from the agency, which is currently located in Beaver.
Requirements:
A willingness to perform various office and public relations taks such as preparing mailings, copying forms, packing moving boxes (end of January) for agency relocaton, posting flyers throughout Beaver County, folding and packaging Bowl Fr Kids' Sake T-shirts in early March.
Bowl For Kids' Sake Volunteer:
Scheduling:
Saturday March 10-3pm to 1am or (4 hour shilfts available) Sunday March 11-noon or 6pm
Transportation:
None provided; must have own vehicle to get to Sim's bowling lane in Big Beaver.
Description:
Help with the agency's bowl-a-thon by distributing refreshments or passing out t-shirts, etc. Must sign up at least 1 week before the event.
