Big Brothers Big Sisters of Beaver County

Volunteer Opportunities with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Beaver County

Big Brother or Big Sister mentors:

"Bigs" (Penn State Beaver students) meet with "Littles" (children from Big Brothers Big Sisters) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. every Thursday at Beaver campus throughout the academic year.

No transportation is required. A bus brings the children to and from Penn State Beaver so the littles can meet with their bigs every week.

Bigs must be able and willing to commit to two complete academic years of mentoring the same child. Those students in their last year at Penn State Beaver are not eligible to apply for the program. "Bigs" must complete an application, submit three references, undergo an interview, and be a good role model to a child on a consistent basis.

Office Volunteer

The volunteer schedule is flexible. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

You will need your own vehicle to get to and from the agency, which is located at 1475 Third Avenue, New Brighton, PA 15066.

Requirements include a willingness to perform various office and public relations tasks, such as preparing mailings, copying forms, posting flyers throughout Beaver County, and preparing for upcoming special events and fundraisers.

Volunteer to "Bowl For Kids' Sake"

The annual Bowl-a-Thon called "Bowl for Kids Sake" is usually held in March at Baden Bowl, Route 65, Baden. Preparation, the event, and follow-up usually take about two weeks.

There is no transportation available to and from Baden Bowl. Students must have their own vehicle or must secure their own transportation to the site.

Volunteers are needed to help with the Bowl-a-Thon by distributing refreshments or passing out t-shirts, etc. If you're interested in volunteering, please contact us at least one week prior to the event.
